Co-Interim Chief Business Officer
As co-interim chief business officer, Mrs. Susan Anz oversees enrollment management and information technology while continuing to lead Baylor University’s cloud computing governance and technical support, business transformation, and campus-wide continuous improvement initiatives with a focus on business and system optimization and effectiveness.
Appointed as Baylor’s deputy CBO in 2022, Mrs. Anz has led Baylor in transforming legacy administrative and support functions to ensure the robust, professionalized system required to sustain and enhance Baylor as an R1 university.
With over 25 years at Baylor, Mrs. Anz has served in a number of key financial leadership roles, including vice president of finance since 2017. During her tenure at Baylor, her responsibilities have included accounting, reporting, and controls, as well as tax, procurement, payables, student financial services, debt strategy/financings supporting over $650 million in new capital projects, treasury, and financial planning functions. Prior to joining Baylor, she held positions in public accounting and the not-for-profit and government sectors with experience in both external and internal auditing, as well as compliance, establishment of internal audit functions, and restructuring of business operations. Mrs. Anz holds a BBA in accounting, with a minor in information systems, from Baylor. She is a licensed certified public accountant in Texas and a member of the AICPA and TSCPA and is currently serving as treasurer for Rotary Club of Waco, as secretary for Baylor Waco Stadium Authority, and on the board for the Central Texas Technology and Research Park.
She and her husband, Jeff (BBA ’01), have four children: Elizabeth (BA ’16), Lauren (BS ’18), Garrett, and Zachary, a junior at Baylor. They are members of First Woodway Baptist Church.
